Barcelona interested in Son if Spurs don’t extend contract.

Son Heung-min has been name on Barcelona transfer list if the South Korean striker does not sign a new contract with Tottenham.

Ufabet Sports reported on Monday that Son Heung-min is on Barcelona’s summer transfer list if Tottenham Hotspur do not extend the South Korean forward’s contract when his current deal expires at the end of the season. 

Barcelona’s financial situation means the club are looking to strengthen their squad with players whose contracts with the club will expire in the summer of 2025, with Son Heung-min, the 32-year-old striker for the Tottenham Hotspurs, also on the Catalan giants’ list.

“Barcelona are reportedly chasing Son Heung-min on a free transfer,” notes the outlet.

“The South Korean star is set to see his contract at Tottenham Hotspur expire at the end of the season.

“Son, 32, is in the final year of his deal in north London having signed his last extension in 2021.

“He is free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs now the January transfer window has opened.

“One club that is keen on striking a deal with the forward is Barcelona, according to Spanish publication El Nacional.”

Son joined Tottenham Hotspur from Leverkusen in the summer of 2015 and has scored 169 goals in 431 games during a decade at the club, but the London club are yet to decide whether to offer the player a new contract. He is free to negotiate a pre-contract with another club at the moment and could be interest in a move to Barcelona to seek a new challenge.
