Cole Palmer pleased as Chelsea seize European Cup opportunity.

Chelsea striker Cole Palmer is delighted the team will now be the ones to decide their own path to European football next season.

The Blues beat Brighton 2-1 in the Premier League on Wednesday, with the London side now on 60 points and a European place in their grasp ahead of their final game UFABET

“We needed the three points and it was hard at the end of the game. But that puts it in our hands (European qualification) and it’s important for us to finish sixth.” Cole Palmer said the forward, who scored the game’s opener.

“Mark (Gugureya) knows where I will be. And I flicked it over the goalkeeper. (Referring to the moment when he scored his own goal in the first half)

“Chelsea is a big club and everyone People want to finish higher than sixth. But you have to look at where we were at the start of the season. Therefore, returning to the European area would be a move in the right direction.

“All the credit goes to the manager (Mauricio Pochettino). All the players love the manager and want to fight for him.”

Palmer also discussed his own form, after netting the 22nd Premier League goal of his debut campaign with the Blues. Meaning he has already matched club legend Frank Lampard’s best tally for a season – set in 2009/10, his ninth year with Chelsea – at the first attempt.
