Types of fats in cooking oils

Types of fats in vegetable oils and their health benefits. Types of fats in vegetable oils

There are two main types of fats found in vegetable oils:

saturated fat

Although most saturated fats are found in animals. But there are some vegetable oils that contain saturated fats. This group of fats should be eaten in limited quantities. This can cause high blood cholesterol levels such as palm oil and coconut oil.

unsaturated fat

There are two types of unsaturated fats found in plants:

  • monounsaturated fat It is a fat that has the ability to reduce bad fats and increase good fats within the body. It can be found in olive  oil, sesame oil, canola oil. and rice bran oil 
  • polyunsaturated fat It is a fat found in soybean oil. sunflower oil and corn oil If eaten in the right amount, it may help reduce the bad fats that cause chronic disease.
